Fake grass sead that does not grow
the grass seed that is advertised to grow in 5-7 days does not grow at all there ads are fake and they charged $13.90 to ship a 2 lb bag, is .that not a rip?there should be a way to return the bag and get a refund. they ran add after full page add and I am sure a lot of people were fooled and wasted there hard earned money. These people should be reported to the BBB. I will make sure every one I know does not order this procuct and I will never again order without a written guarantee.

Ordered $100 worth of plants from Gardeners Choice. Recieved nothing and now way past planting time for my area. Had trouble last year. Did receive them last year but were all but dead on arrival. Did get them to grow with a lot of TLC. Did produce but nothing like they claim. Yes I did fertilize and baby'd them through the summer. I have emailed numerous times and tried to call. (always busy). Have not had any response. Will never order again. Turned it over to my credit Co. Will buy from local nurseries in the future. Guess they just want my money

Not getting the product
i ordered from them in november 2012 thinking i would receive the product in march/april - i called them to find out when they were shipped in march and again on4/10/13 - they said they were shipped in december - how can i plant something in december in this area -- when i ordered there was only one shipping map which showed march delivery, now today there is a winter and spring. the same thing happened last spring - i never got the order and they reshipped and i never got the 2nd either. why would i want them to reship again -- i just want my money back as they have already taken the money from my credit card -- they are looking into the situation supposedly and now wont reship since they are looking into it

Increased my order and overcharged my credit card.
I ordered the "buy 2 lbs. grass seed and get one free" plus shipping. When I went to check out, an offer popped up for a 5 lb. bag, get one free. They sent me 20 lbs, for a total charge of $199.95! I called immediately when I realized they doubled my order only to be told I could not change it until the order was processed, but the guy I was talking to promised to mark my account. Next time I called I was on hold for over 40 minutes. I received the 20 lbs, and then realized that the grass is not permanent. I called to get return instructions and it cost me over $35.00 to ship it back!! that was a month ago, and still no credit to my charge card. I am sending the bank proof I returned the product and they will credit back my account. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS!

Don't Buy From Gardener's Choice aka Spring River Nurseries, Hartford, MI
I ordered from 'Gardener's Choice' and it seems to be a big scam. There are a large number of customers getting ripped of by this company and 'Gardener's Choice', which is one and the same company. The BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU gives 'Spring River Nurseries' an [ A ] rating, and 'Gardener's Choice has no rating. The only way the BBB can rate this company is by the customer input. This would really help other people. The web site BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU is bbb.org. I have learned research take a few minutes on the Internet can saves money and a headache.

Gardeners Choice Is Screwing Me
I ordered my hummingbird vine's on 6/9/2011...i received them on 6/21/2011, however, they were 90% dead. I tried planting them to see if i could retrieve the life, i could not! I called on 7/15/2011, spoke with Dan to reship my order, never received them. I called back on 8/15/2011 spoke with Jay, he said that Dan never put my order in, Jay was very rude and said he replaced my order while i was on the phone with him. I called on 9/06/2011, spoke with Mike, he said my reorder was never processed by Dan or Jay, Mike said he would reorder my HB Vines.I called on 9/12/2011, spoke with AL who was very nice and explained to me why they never reshipped my order. AL said they did not ship out anymore vines after June, the whole nursery is closed down, which Dan, Jay, and Mike was not giving me the truth of why i was not getting my order. AL said i would receive a full refund including the shipping charges a total of $43.76...I waited until 9/22/2011 to call back to verify that they did indeed send me my refund. However, when i spoke with Marvin on 9/22/2011 he said that it would be 2 to 3 days more before i would get my refund. I called on 9/27/2011 and spoke with Nicole, she said the whole plant was closed, that she couldn't do anything about it. I asked her how can their company keep my money and the vines i ordered? I told her, i believe that would be against the law. She put me on hold for couple of minutes, she then informed me that they would send me out check, she also said that it would take 7 to 10 days. On 10/6/2011, Charles Jones CALLED me, he said that check was being mailed. On 10/26/2011 i called, spoke with Dan again, he said i was getting a refund, i asked to speak with a supervisor, I left a message for Carol, whom i believe is the supervisor since Dan transfered me to her (Carol). I do not know what else i can do to get my money back, i have tried several attempts

Gardeners Choice total scam!!!
Ordered 2 humming bird vines 6/11/11, a Saturday, on buy 2 get 4 promotion. Gardeners Choice online order form doubled the order to buy 4 get 8, not my choice. Called 6/13/11 and tried to correct order, with MATT (G C manager) Yeah right, who ever answers the phone is the current manager. No correction available as the order had already shipped. He LIED ship date was 6/30/11, per UPS tracking number. Seventeen days before actually shipping vines and they wouldn't correct the order. This fact alone tells you what kind of company you are dealing with. On 7/7/11 received 8 dead sticks via UPS no leaves no roots DEAD!! We are stopping payment thru AMEX credit card. AVOID this unethical company at all cost they LIE, ship DEAD plants and won't help you with any customer service.

Gardener's Choice Scams
Early in the year we ordered two varieties of plants (5 or one and 6 of another) from Gardener's choice. And we waited... Sent several emails with no response. Sent another and got a response...told us to keep waiting. Finally got the "plants" which were shipped in separate plastic bags and bone dry. Their appearance was so poor that we took photos of them for future reference prior to preparing them to plant. Planted them and waited, and waited, and waited for them to leaf out. No signs of life. Contacte GC service rep and they informed us they were just dormant and we should wait longer. Suggested the "scratch" test near the base of the plant. Gently started to do that to one plant and the stem simply broke off at the base (not a grafted plant). Contacted customer service and they offered to replace the plants. I informed them that based on the quality of the previous shipment I wanted a refund, not additional dead plants. They then informed me that because the order was over $30 they would have to have the original invoice back prior to a refund. I asked what happens if I didn't get the refund and no longer had the original invoice? She then said I would have to send them a letter if that occurred! Right. Will send them the original invoice but will certainly retain a copy and will send it registered mail, signature required. Dumb me, didn't check this company out on the internet prior to ordering. Huge number of similar complaints as we have. Astounded that the Michigan Better Business Bureau gives them an A+ and plainly list over 450 complaints!! Just shows you can buy a good name I guess.

I recently bought some of their guaranteed tomato plants. They advertise as 60# of tomatoes from one plant. Three of the four starters arrived dead & after much nursing got one little bloom on one & didn't survive over a week. Do not buy from this company. They just take your money & don't back anything up. Do not return notes or letters & if you mail your plants back-never hear another word from them. This is a fraudulent company & don't waste your time or your hard earned money. This is a shame since they are located in Hartford, MI.

Gardeners Choice Is A Scam if I ever saw One! That is Gardeners' Choice 81961 CR 687 South Hartford MI 49057 It is an Internet offer and they have a catalog offer for plants too. I fell for the Beautiful Hummingbird fine. Buy one get one Free. Well... My husband ordered it and the box came crushed with only one dead plant inside. They send dead plants and you can never reach them! I was supposed to get two plants and only got one! It was so Dead! I tried to reach them But It was Impossible! Don't Make the same mistake I did! Never order From Gardeners' Choice!!

Partial order and Poor Product!!
I ordered 4 plants and received two. The plants were NOT healthy nor did I feel that I came close to getting what I Paid for. I wouldn't order from Gardeners' Choice again in the future. With shipping I paid almost fifty dollars for something I could have received at a local nursery for 25% of the cost. It is a shame when I called I was put on hold for over ten minutes and NEVER had someone come to the phone and it was long distance on top of that!! My name is Debbie Reid and I live in Texas

Gardeners Choice on-line website. I looked at Royal Paulownia Empress Trees (supposed to grow really fast). Had to put in credit card # and address, etc., in order to see the cost. I never hit submit. At first it was okay to order 2. After adding info I had to order 4. I was concerned it might be a scam so I Xed out. I never pressed Submit. Credit card bill came with strange website-like listing from Japan? with Japanese Zen next to it by the charge. Credit card company took off the charge and agreed it was too strange to be real. Then I received box with 4 very dead plants. But I never ordered them! I looked up address in Michigan on-line in White Pages. It was not found. Poor set of instructions that repeated each paragraph several times was the only thing that came with plants. I will not send them back, but will dispose of them. I will send a letter to see if it is returned in the mail. Big scam!

Gardeners's Choice took my money and sent 2 dead Jupiter Seedless Grape vines.
Is there any protection from companies like Gardener's Choice? If yes please post the contact. There is no way to reach a customer service representative. The posted hours are only available to "suckers" like me who are placing orders. There is no mechanism for canceling an order or contacting them to let them know the plants were DOA. Fellow gardeners, we must unite and find a way to plant a movement and keep it growing. The initial order states that the credit card will not be charged until the order has been sent. LOL, that too is an untrue. My credit card was billed as soon as the order was posted. To date 4 of 30 items have been shipped all others are in the pending status. I sure wish I had read these reviews before I placed that $250.00 order.

Over charged ,did not receive
i ordered an item, 3 blackberry bushes for 7.95 i received 3 blackberry at 46.83 then the next day received 3 more at $65.83 all are dead, can not contact these people on any of their noted avenues, phone, email and fax what can i do? i have ordered from them in the past with no problem ,are they in bankruptcy? how can i find out their status? i hate being ripped off from these businesses, who can i contact? with all the complaints surely there is some recourse to get my money back, please help me.

No seed in the pots
i purchase some tomatoes tree and early tomatoes plants from gardener choice. i water the pots hoping to see little tomatoes spring up. I waited and waited for weeks nothing. I decided to check one of the pots and found no seed in them. so i called demaned my money back they said ok. i sent them $43 for the Item they only refund me $15. thiis company is a total rip off. Don't buy from them they will still you blind. this company should not be aloud to do this. it is hwy robbery and one day God will judge them for it.
